LOCAL   ART  

      The  York  Art  Society  is  interested  in  promoting  local  Art  Groups  as  a  part  of  its  efforts  to increase  the awareness  of   local  art  in  the  community and  this  page  is  dedicated  with  this  in  mind.

      Art Groups form an important part of the local community. They are a great social  activity. A  place  where  people  of  all  ages  can  interact and socialise.

     They  can  be  very  therapeutic, whatever the skills or abilities. It is not a question of producing a 'masterpiece'.  The  objective  need  simply  be,  to  enjoy  oneself.

     This "Local  Art "  page  is  available  to  other  local  Groups  and  Clubs  where  they  can  mention  their  forthcoming  Art  Exhibitions etc. usually at no charge.   They do not necessarily need to have a website.

      If  you  are  a local  group  member  or  organiser you  may  wish consider placing this kind of  information on the York  Art  Society  website. (see 'Contact' page)
