The society members meet monthly, either for lectures, demonstrations or teaching workshops in a warm and friendly atmosphere, occasionally arranging painting holidays and visits to places of artistic interest. News, views and updates are in a quarterly newsletter issued to keep members informed of current events.
The Society holds exhibitions of members` paintings, twice a year; usually in the historic Guildhall and The Merchant Adventurers Hall in the centre of York.
Members paintings are also to be seen on the York Art Society's 'GALLERY' web-page.
New membership inquiries are welcome from people living in York and the surrounding area.
